Gary Musick

With a name like “Musick” (yes, its pronounced just like “music”), Nashville seemed like the perfect place for Gary Musick to claim as home. Like countless other aspiring young singers, Musick moved to Nashville as a college student hoping for a career as a performer and studio vocalist. After graduating from Belmont University’s music business program, success came early as he became a sought-after backup singer and studio vocalist for some of country and Christian music’s biggest artists. With music performance as a creative outlet, Musick soon became intrigued with the concept of producing shows rather than simply performing in them. In 1982, he joined the staff of Book Ends, Inc., an innovative young entertainment company that would eventually become Gary Musick Productions. In the next decade the company grew steadily with the addition of Gary Musick Scenic, one of Nashville and the mid-South’s most prominent scenic and decorating services. Both ventures continued to grow with major projects in the cruise ship entertainment field, long-run land based theatrical productions, and hundreds of Fortune 500 corporate meetings and events. Musick’s latest venture is DESTINATION MUSICK CITY, a full-service destination management firm offering complete creative production and destination support services to Nashville’s exploding meetings and convention market. Throughout every phase of his career, the focus has been on helping clients experience results through an award winning commitment to quality. He is married with 3 beautiful daughters and a grandson, all of whom share his love for this amazing town many have come to affectionately call Music City!

His enthusiasm is contagious, coming from an extensive live entertainment background with a decade in the Musical Theater Touring business as an entertainer and producer.

Jim Sheridan

Most of us call Jim the “Creative Guy” who comes up with ideas out of seemingly nowhere and everywhere. Known for showing up with some crazy item, story, illustration, or concept that helps turn a client’s nebulous idea into a reality, Jim also relishes collaborating with the producers, client, or staff in finding new ways of presenting brands, concepts and products. Or as he puts it, “I see us an idea factory for helping our clients imagine and then construct their dreams.”

Jonathan production manages sound, lighting, video, labor, and logistics, as well as directs the live video for our shows. He has worked for Gary music productions longer than most marriages have lasted! He began his career in the entertainment industry at age 3 when he and his four siblings recorded a single for Epic Records under the name of the Little People. Although he says is true claim to fame or shame may be that his father directed the legendary sci-fi movie The Blob starring Steve McQueen. In his spare time he enjoys… wait a minute, what spare time? He has continued performing and recording over the years and in his spare time sings with the Nashville Symphony.

Chris Lyle

Chris Lyle could easily be given the title “Curator of the Gary Musick Collection.” There is no one else that better knows where the thousands of props, set pieces, signs, and other decor items are stored than Chris. When shows and projects are created that utilize anything from our vast scenic inventory, Chris is the go-to guy, designating which items head to specific show sites along with their arrival times as well as how many crew members are needed for setup and strike.
